BASMATI VARITIES GROWN BY ME

Many farmers from various parts of our country like, Tamilnadu, maharastra and gujarat are asking me about Basmati varieties and expressing their doubts about the cultivation in our region,
I would like to make it very clear my dear farmer friends , any paddy can be grown anywhere in India, it is only a misconception among farmers that is preventing them to go for growing  High  profit earning  crops like basmati etc...
I have been growing Various Basmati varieties from the past 10 years at my farm lands situated in Raichur district, and not only me many farmers in Karnataka and Andra pradesh are successfully growing the Basmati varieties from the past few years , North Indian Farmers have brought GI for the basmati varieties, but a very interesting fact is we in south India are annually consuming around 30 Lacs Metric tons, hence we can grow the basmati varities and that crop can be used for our own domestic consumption labeling it as long grain aromatic rice , where both farmer and consumer will be equally benefited, also our country also can earn additional foreign exchange.

The following varieties are being successfully grown by me and are available with me
Variety name            Duration in days          yield per acre (appx)
 1, pusa basmati-1        130-140                    30 Quintals
 2, PS-4(1121)              125                           20 Quintals
 3, PS-5 (2511)             130                           30 Quintals
 4, PS-6 (1401)             125-130                   28 Quintals
 5, 1509                        120                           25 Quintals

1121 variety is a world wide famous variety and is earning our country valuable foreign currency
recently released variety 1509 is also a very good variety with better yield

one special feature of these basmati varieties is , The cost of cultivation is very low compare to our sona masoori cultivation cost
